Huawei’s bid at a competitor to the Macbook, the unimaginative named Matebook, has landed in South Africa.
Locally two iterations of the Matebook will available – the Matebook X and the Matebook E – though the E is more of a 2-in-1 than an ultrabook.
Both notebook’s house a 7th generation Intel Core processor which, in the case of the E, is an Intel Core i5 and either a Core i5 or Core i7 in the X.
Both contain a 256GB SSD, but the X can also be configured with a 512GB SSD.
Huawei is also packaging the Matebook’s with a few extras such as a backpack, a Mate dock, and as a Bluetooth mouse.
The Huawei Matebooks are available now through Makro, Matrix Warehouse and Computer Mania Online.
