The best place to get your matric 2017 results, according to the Department of Basic Education

The 2017 matric results will be announced on 4th January 2018 with the individual results being released the next day.

The Department of Basic Education highly recommends you get it from the school you attend.

This comes from Elijah Mhlanga, a spokesperson for the Department. He announced this on Twitter earlier this month.

For some this may not be possible as they’re either far from their schools on holiday, or busy preparing for university.

Luckily, a few websites will also be hosting the results, including the Department’s own site.

Below we’ve linked to the specific splash pages for the results. Many of them will also have them displayed on the home page when you visit it on the day.

All of those third party sites also have a sign up option available so you can receive an email or SMS when the results are available.

As always regional and national newspapers will have the results in a special supplement, but you can also get them through an SMS or USSD.

Either SMS your ID and exam number to 35658 or dial *120*35658# on the day.

Check out our ‘Everything you need to know‘ story about the exams for more details.
