#Matric2017: Where to watch the announcement live & get your results

Matric students from 2017 will finally learn their fates over the next two days as their exam results are made public.

Later today there will be a conference announcing the overall matric pass rate and other statistics, followed by the individual results being made available on Friday, 5th January.

Where to watch the live announcement

Today at 6 PM local time Minister of Education Angie Motshekga will announce the outcome of the exams in a live broadcast on SABC 1, DStv channel 404.

If you don’t have access to a TV, no problem. Elijah Mhlanga‏, a spokesperson for the Department , has confirmed to us that the websites listed below will be hosting livestreams of the event.

Click on the name of the site to be taken to its homepage where the announcement should be front and centre, or click on the YouTube link to be taken to their respective channels where the livestream should also be hosted.

Where to get your results

While Mhlanga‏ has stated that the best place to get your results is your school, there’s many other options available.

Apart from the standard regional and national newspapers, which will come with special matric supplements tomorrow, you can access the results from your phone.

SMS your ID and exam number to 35658 or dial *120*35658# for the USSD option.

The following sites also offer the results and have dedicated sections where you can sign up to be alerted as soon as the marks are in.
