Matric 2017 re-mark and re-check: How to apply and how much it costs

Matric students of 2017 finally have their results today (which can be found here), and some of them may be unhappy with their marks.

Those that are have the option to have their papers either re-checked for any errors or completely re-marked from the ground up.

This, of course, comes with a fee per paper. The details for applying and paying for this service are described below by the Department of Basic Education on their official release of National Senior Certificate examination results page.

A candidate may apply at the prescribed fee for the re-mark/re-check of his/her examination scripts. Registration can be done at either the school or district office in the province (all instructions appear on the reverse side of the Statement of Results).

Closing date for applications: 19 January 2018

Fees for re-marking and re-checking per subject:

Re-mark : R98.00
Re-check : R23.00

Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is 7 days after release of re-mark or re-check results. The fee for viewing is R192.00

If you have trouble finding the district offices in your province, a full list with physical addresses and telephone numbers can also be found on the Department website.
