DJI Mavic Air – South African pricing and availability

The DJI Mavic Air was revealed to the world in January and local quadcopter enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to get their hands on one.

Several photography retailers have listed pricing for the Mavic Air and as suspected the drone is cheaper than its sibling the Mavic Pro.

Outdoorphoto has the Air listed in both Onyx Black and Arctic White with a retail price of R15 695. Interestingly the Onyx Black is listed as “In Stock” while the Arctic White version is “Awaiting Stock”.

The retailer also has the Fly More Combo available which includes the white or black drone, extra propellers, a carrying case, a battery hub and more for R19 695.

Orms Direct has the Mavic Air available for pre-order with an estimated arrival of early February. Pricing is the same as it is at Outdoorphoto – R15 695 for the drone and R19 695 for the Fly More Combo – but Orms has the drone available in a Flame Red colour.

Finally Droneworld has the Air listed for R15 699 and the Fly More Combo for R19 699. Droneworld’s expected availability of the drone is 5th February.

One of the stand out features of the Mavic Air for us is the ability to capture Full HD (1920 x 1080) video at a frame rate of 120fps.

The Air will stay in the air for 21 minutes (at a speed of 24kmph with no wind about) and can travel up to 10km which is impressive considering this quadcopter is about half the size of the Mavic Pro.
