Red Dead Redemption 2 release date announced

There’s good news and bad news for all you folk aching to saddle up with Rockstar’s new Red Dead Redemption game.

The bad news is that Red Dead Redemption 2 will not see release early this year as was originally planned. The good news is that the game has a street date.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 28th of this year, according to a post on Rockstar’s official blog. The reason for the delay is because the developers need a little more time to make sure the game is absolutely gleaming by the time it sees release.

“We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish,” the blog post reads.

“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”

Rather than simply nick the screenshots from Rockstar’s blog we’ve provided a link to them above. Check them out. We believe they can be described as simply swoon-worthy.

As much as we’d love to get our hands on this game in April, we have to say that if Rockstar needs the extra time, the wait will probably be worth it. After all, when was the last time anyone could accuse this developer of putting out a bad looking game?
