Do we really need to start every month of 2018 off with a Logan Paul controversy? Okay then.

After being absent from YouTube for most of January Logan Paul returned to the platform only to have advertising stripped from his channel.

The announcement that Paul’s ability to place advertising on his channel had been removed came via the YouTube Creators Twitter account.

In response to Logan Paul’s recent pattern of behavior, we’ve temporarily suspended ads on his channels.

So what has Logan Paul been doing since he returned to YouTube?

After issuing an apology Paul returned to YouTube three weeks later with the video Suicide: Be Here Tomorrow. In that video Paul pledges to donate $1 million to suicide prevention organisations. The video was well received by his fans but many of Paul’s peers questioned whether he had indeed learned his lesson.

As it turns out, Paul still has some learning to do.

In a video uploaded three days ago titled “THE PAULS RESPOND TO THE CSI FIGHT **called out**”, Paul can be seen trying to give a fish CPR while its out of the water and then later in the video using a taser on dead rats.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals issued the following statement following the release of Paul’s video.

“How many chances does Logan Paul get? PETA finds it repulsive that this ‘internet personality’ with millions of impressionable young followers has not learned the lesson that there is sadness, not humor, in the death of others. This sort of content has no place on YouTube or anywhere else, as it could desensitize young people to cruelty to animals, so PETA is calling on the platform to remove it.”

As of time of writing the video is still available on YouTube.

While not being able to monetise videos is a big deal for YouTubers who have made creating content their career, it’s unlikely that Paul will really feel the knock of demonetisation. He does have the successful (according to him at least) Maverick merchandise that brings in money after all.

Will Paul apologise? We can’t really say but if he does we have a feeling that creator Jacksfilms foretold how 2018 would play out.
