Applications for MEST Africa close in two days

There are just two days left for South African graduates to apply for the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology’s (MEST) software development and entrepreneurship program. Applications close this Thursday on February 15th.

Successful applicants will kick off a fully sponsored 1-year course at MEST HQ this August 2018, which will upskill them in business, communications and software. The training course includes hands-on project work as well as mentoring from CEOs, entrepreneurs and company executives from all over the globe – including Silicon Valley.

At the end of the program, applicants will be able to pitch the fruit of their labours and have a chance at receiving seed investment in order to grow their business, which will be a part of MEST’s network of incubators, based in Lagos, Nairobi, Cape Town and, of course, Accra.

When it was first launch, MEST’s seed incubator program offered places to graduates from Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. However, last year MEST saw its first group of South African Entrepreneurs-in-training graduate from its program and an incubator set up in Cape Town.

“We’re extremely excited to continue to show our commitment to the South African market with the launch of our new incubator space and the 2018 ZA recruitment drive,” said MEST Managing Director Aaron Fu. “Cape Town is certainly home to an enormous amount of ambitious tech talent with massive potential, and we are working towards delivering access to opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs from across the region.”

“Through our pan-African training program, we want to enable the collaboration and interaction and thus make trans-Africa startups happen more,” said Fu.
