We finally get a look at Call of Cthulhu gameplay

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game has had some cinematic trailers in the past, but we now have a proper look at the gameplay thanks to a five-minute video.

We’re not entirely sure how or why the tiny YouTube channel “Gamesworld Gameplay” managed to get their hands on the footage where the official accounts of publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide don’t feature it, but we’re happy it’s out there for all to see.

We get a good look at the narrative RPG elements of the game, with peaks at the skill trees relating to abilities such as perception, forensics and psychology.

And, because this is a game based on Lovecraft fiction, there’s even a dedicated tab for insanity.

Unfortunately the video doesn’t give a release date for the game, which is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so we’ll have to keep waiting.

Until then, however, there’s a lot of games out there to cure your Lovecraft itch. On the 80th anniversary of the author’s death we looked at eight titles from throughout the years that took direct influence from his work.

Give it a read and suggest anything we may have missed as there’s bound to have been more released since then.
