SA-made Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse goes on sale today

If you’re in the mood for something slightly ridiculous and locally made, Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse (VALA) can be added to your Steam library today.

VALA is a co-op, top-down, twin-stick shooter which has you racking up kills faster than hyphenated adjectives. In place of the usual zombies that these genres love so much, you’re instead slaying hordes of ravenous llamas, as the name suggests.

The game also has some rogue elements so the power ups and weapons you get throughout are randomised each time. You’ll be equipping these to your spider mech as it traverses through levels which are also different each time you play.

We played this game last year at rAge where it was one of our top three South African games. We’ve also been playing the game at home recently, so look out for our thoughts in this weeks htxt.africast.

While the game does release today, it has not unlocked on Steam yet. It should be available to buy from 8PM local time, so we suggest getting some friends over to play as you can pile up to four people in with local co-op.

This release is for PC exclusive but an Xbox version (with Play Anywhere support) will be coming out in the middle of March.
