It’s official Africa is getting its own Comic Con.

Yes friends, after many promises in the past that never materialised into something on the scale of international conventions Comic Con Africa is real.

The convention will be hosted by Reedpop and VS Gaming following an announcement made at an event held in Kyalami, Johannesburg today.

Comic Con Africa will be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit & International Convention Center from 14th to 16th September.

The event appears to be just what you would expect from a Comic Con – cosplay, comics (obviously) and an artist alley.

But the organisers of this Con seem to have guns pointed at rAge because Comic Con Africa will also feature gaming in the form of esports tournaments.

The promo video below also makes mention of guest appearances though it’s unclear at this stage what that entails.

You can follow @ComicConAfrica over on Twitter or give the Facebook page a like to stay up to date with news about the convention.
