Get a chicken dinner on the go – PUBG Mobile released

With Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds already capturing the attentions of PC and Xbox players, its apparently come time for the game to make a grab for mobile gamers.

PUBG Mobile sees up to 100 players competing in a last man standing battle to the death and is now available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The best part is that unlike its PC and console counterparts – PUBG Mobile is free to play.

The game has been licensed and released by Tencent Games and it says the game is “an authentic port of the PC version”.

Players will be able to team up with friends and communicate using voice chat. Simply put, it’s PUBG but on a smaller display.

A few things you should know

While the prospect of playing PUBG during meetings excites us what doesn’t is the 706MB download required to get the game. It shouldn’t be a big deal if you’re on an uncapped wireless connection like us but if you’re on mobile data be warned.

In terms of specifications for Android phones you will need to be running at least Android 5.1.1 on a handset with at least 2GB of RAM.

On iOS you’ll need at least an iPhone 6 or above. That said we have seen some players running the game on the iPad Pro as well.

You will also need a persistent internet connection to play the game.

We’ve already played one game this morning on our Samsung Galaxy S9 and it’s pretty good. The controls are terrible given that this is on your mobile phone but the graphics are really good and while there was a slight spike while loading it was the only lag spike we encountered.

We’ve included a small gallery below.
