ADATA XPG SX8200 M.2 storage drives promise blazing performance

ADATA Technology has launched its XPG SX8200 solid state drive that should be incredibly quick.

The SSD comes in the M.2 form factor and sports second generation 64-layer 3D NAND Flash modules.

ADATA claims that the drive has a read speed of 3.2GB/s and a write speed of 1.7GB/s. The drive also claims to have a 4K random read/write speed of 310K/280K IOPS. We’ll have to see the hardware working in the real world before any of that can be verified, however.

All of this together should make for faster transfers, shorter game loading times and faster system response times.

The XPG SX8200 boasts a two million hour mean time between failure rating which should offer up a bit of reliability. In addition to that the drive comes with an extended five year warranty which is great.

The ADATA XPG SX8200 is available in South Africa in 240GB and 480GB variants with pricing sitting at R1 629 and R2 649 respectively.
