SA software devs Nona secure Redsand Labs partnership

Local software development studio Nona has announced that it has partnered with with Redsand Labs in a bid to educate more business people about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

The Capetonian dev studio became well known for being the first South African firm to complete an equity deal using cryptocurrency. They used Bitcoin to buy out a significant shareholder in December 2017.

Now they hope to reach more business people and entrepreneurs to teach them about blockchain through workshops. The workshops have proved so popular that they have attracted the attention of UK innovation and venture practice Redsand Labs.

The two companies recently announced a partnership two years in the making which will focus on creating a blockchain consultancy and developing smart contracts.

“In this complex and rapidly changing area of technology there is a real need for service providers that span not only the traditional fintech and investment competencies, but now also the technical and software development expertise too,” Redsand Labs managing partner Nicole Anderson said in a statement.

“The Nona/Redsand partnership is an obvious fit as, together we are now able to bring full service offerings to legitimate and high-value ICO and ITOs, as well as established companies looking to tokenise their business model,” added Anderson.

Co-founder and chief executive officer at Nona Mike Scott says the firm has been working on its own blockchain projects but it is excited to share what it has learned with others.

“We look forward to seeing what this partnership will help us achieve in terms of knowledge-sharing around the power of the blockchain and equipping technologists and business people to realise opportunities in this new era,” says Scott.

Nona and Redsand Labs will be hosting a Blockchain and Crypto Workshop in Cape Town later this month (23rd April) at Rise in Woodstock details and tickets for which can be found on Quicket.
