Patreon CEO reaches out to Casey Neistat on YouTube

Last week Casey Neistat announced his new business, 368, in a video with a very vague plan of what he plans to do with it and the large office space it has in New York.

In the accompanying video it was very clear that whatever the business was going to do, it was going to do cooperatively with a focus on creators and their communities.

That caught the attention of Jack Conte, co-founder and CEO of Patreon, who has released a video response (remember when those were a thing?) which is equally vague.

While the video is short and sparse on details, it’s edited extremely well which we assume is a prerequisite if you want to talk to the man many cite for popularising the current format of vlogs.

So Conte wants to meet with Neistat to discuss… something that looks to be a business venture, why should you care?

Well this is a case of great implications, because we can see some kind of partnership here being good for creators everywhere.

Patreon has been a massive help in turning some of our favourite channels into reliable sources of entertainment, and Neistat has proven to have considerable sway on YoutTube. We can’t think of anyone else who managed to get an interview with high-ups from the site.

For now it’s just a neat video and a game of “wait and see”.
