You can play Molten Giant with its old mana cost for a limited time

Last night Blizzard released update 11.0 for Hearthstone in anticipation of the release of The Witchwood expansion.

The patch notes are what you would expect. New keywords like Rush and Echo are coming, Enrage is being culled and you can play Molten Giant in Standard for 20 mana.

Wait what?

Yes that’s right. The patch brings with it the Molten Giant mana change and while the card is slated to go into the Hall of Fame when The Witchwood expansion goes live, you can play the card in Standard right now.

Note the mana change.

Of course you would need a viable deck with which to run Molten Giant but perhaps Secret/Tempo Mage might find luck with the giant in the short space between now and tomorrow.

Another interesting change quietly pushed in with update 11.0 is that Deathstalker Rexxar will now be able to build a beast using beasts from Kobolds & Catacombs and The Witchwood. With the amount of lifesteal and rush beasts announced for this expansion we have a feeling Zombeast Hunter is going to be a fun experience to play.

The card tracker will now also show you which cards you have burned when you overdraw them.

Blizzard has also stressed that players wanting to pre-purchase 70 The Witchwood card packs have until 11:59 p.m. PDT on 11th April to do so. For those here in South Africa that is 20:59 this evening.

The Witchwood releases on 12th April and you can start theory-crafting decks using the full release table over on Reddit.
