Dark Souls: Remastered release date delayed for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch gamers will have to wait a little while longer before they can die over and over as Dark Souls: Remastered will not release in May 2018 as originally intended.

Instead, its release date has been pushed back a little to “summer 2018”, which translates to South Africa’s winter season.

This comes from an official tweet which doesn’t explain much:

The Solaire of Astora amiibo (which is availbe to pre-order even locally) has also been delayed.

The Nintendo Switch Dark Souls server test will still take place at a later unannounced date and the PC/PS4/X1 versions of the game will retain their 25th May 2018 release date.

The backlash from this announcement is quite intense on Twitter with multiple users voicing their disdain about the delay. Ultimately though, the delay is to ensure that the final Nintendo Switch version of the game runs as smoothly as possible. We can wait.
