The year marches steadily on (God, is it nearly May already?) and South Africa’s Comic Con approaches.

When it was first announced in February this year, organisers Reed Exhibitions said that it was in talks with some international stars to attend it, including cast members from Game Of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory.

Well today, Reed has announced it bagged its first international film and TV star guest, Jason Momoa.

Momoa, if you have no idea who he is (and if you don’t, why are you reading this?), is the bloke who played Aquaman in the recent Justice League movie, changing many comic book fans’ expectations of the character from slightly lame hero to bearded badass. He also played the Dothraki chieftain Khal Drogo in the first series of Game Of Thrones.

If you’re interested in seeing any more of the man’s work, he starred in the recent Conan The Barbarian reboot, the Walter Hill assassin movie Bullet To The Head and he can currently be found in the Netflix movie frontier, playing Declan Harp, a savage, brooding frontiersman with a penchant for solving his problem rather brutally.

Comic Con takes place between from 14th to 16th September at the Kyalami. Tickets are on sale at the official website.
