After a weekend of gaming that saw 1 024 FIFA players descend on Monte Casion in Johannesburg, VS Gaming has two champs to send off to the FIFA eWorld Cup playoffs later this year.
The VS Gaming Cup featured 512 players on Xbox One and 512 on PlayStation 4 battling it out for a place in the event.
“We are proud of what we have been able to achieve this weekend. Over a thousand players competed to take on the worlds best and two of our South Africans will be able to compete on the world stage as a result. We are excited to see what the future holds for this sector,” said VS Gaming spokesperson, Wanda Mkhize.
The top four players on each platform were:
Xbox One
1st – Shiaan Rugbeer
2nd – Irshaad Mahomed
3rd – Abu Akhalwaya
4th – Khalid Fakie
Playstation 4
1st – Thabo Mike Moloi
2nd – Zuhair Ebrahim
3rd – Ziyadh Caasim

The winners each get a spot at the FIFA tournament later this year as well as R400 000 each.

“This was an historic moment for efootball in South Africa. Through this tournament, South African players have now been given the international spotlight that they deserve. This is what it means for VS Gaming – to open new doors of possibility for our players and thereby grow our communities,” Mkhize added.
