It’s Scorpion versus Sub-Zero in this Mortal Kombat 3D print

3D Prints usually take the form of a single character figure or miniature, but this Mortal Kombat diorama is much more than that.

Maker Carlos Emanuel Skorepa has combined series favourites Scorpion and Sub-Zero into this fight scene, complete with a decorative base to keep the pair together.

Skorepa tells us that designing the model in ZBrush took around 35 hours of work, making sure to slice it into smaller pieces for easier printing.

After 30 hours of printing in PLA it can be a bit daunting to get all the parts together, but there’s a handy PDF to guide you, should you want to make your own.

That guide is also available in Spanish and recommends printing at 0.1 layer height to make something similar to the finished print on this page, as well as judicious sanding to make it as smooth as possible.

Painting here was done with simple acrylics, a process that took only six hours resulting in the finished product you can view below.

If you’re planning out shelf space, this diorama measures in at 42 X 22 X 29 centimetres, so it’s definitely on the large size of miniatures.

If that doesn’t deter you, the files to print your own are available for free from Thingiverse.
