Blackberry Motion on sale now for R6999

Sure, the Blackberry brand is not as ubiquitous as it once was but TCL Communications (the firm that makes Blackberry smartphones now) is making some really great smartphones.

While last year’s Blackberry KeyOne wasn’t the greatest phone we ever used, it was good and a viable option if you miss physical keyboards.

Following that the Blackberry Motion enters the local market through Cellucity today.

This phone sports a 5.5inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) display along with an IP67 rating.

You will also find the features you’d expect from a mid-range smartphone in 2018. There is a USB Type-C port, support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and a fingerprint scanner.

Inside there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage capacity. At the back you’ll find a 12MP camera while a 8MP snapper sits at the front.

Our only problem with the Motion is that it ships with Android 7.1 where most new phones come with Android 8. The handset will reportedly get an upgrade to the newer OS later this year.

You can buy the Blackberry Motion now at Cellucity. The cash price of the handset is a reasonable R7 399 but it is currently on sale for R6 999. Contract pricing starts at R652 per month.
