LG G7 ThinQ arrives in South Africa 1st June for R13 999

Good news everybody: LG has confirmed the G7 ThinQ will be coming to South Africa.

The handset will be available from 1st June carrying a recommended retail price of R13 999.

Sadly we don’t have any word on contract pricing just yet, but that should be forthcoming as we get closer to the release date.

The G7 ThinQ sports that latest Snapdragon 845 chipset which brings with it features we’ve come to expect from a flagship smartphone in 2018 such as Quick Charge and 802.11ac Wifi support.

There are also some new features such as LG’s AI CAM, which uses artificial intelligence to optimise shots taken from either the single 8MP snapper at the front or the dual 16MP snapper at the back.

The South Korean firm is also using AI to improve how users communicate with Google Assistant how they launch apps such as Google Lens.

As has become the trend in 2018 the G7 ThinQ sports a notch at the top of its 6.1inch, 19.5:9 aspect ratio display. though you can black out the entire top bar so that the notch is less garish.

“Through the combination of personalised and useful AI functionalities with meaningful smartphone features, this is LG’s most convenient and in the moment smartphone yet,” general manager for mobile communications at LG Electronics SA, Deon Prinsloo said in a statement.

We already knew the G7 ThinQ was coming to South Africa but it’s nice to have a date and a price so we can prepare our wallets.
