Cosplay at Comic Con Africa and you could win R10 000 and a trip to C2E2

We’re a few months away from the first official Comic Con event on African soil and if you were planning to cosplay at the event here’s a bit of extra motivation.

Reed Exhibitions Africa, ReedPOP, and VS Gaming together with GES SA will host the African Championship of Cosplay competition at Comic Con Africa on 14th and 15th September.

This contest forms part of the global Quest for the Crown cosplay competition that celebrates some of the best cosplayers in the world. The winner of the competition at Comic Con Africa will go on to represent Africa at the competition’s finals in 2019.

This includes one VIP ticket to C2E2 2019 in Chicago, R10 000 in prize money, an economy ticket to Chicago, hotel accommodation for two nights in Chicago, entry into the Quest for the Crown championships, and a medal.

The Champions of Cosplay competition will crown one overall winner, but there are also four divisions each with their own prizes which we’ve detailed below:

2018 Comic Con Africa Champion of the Needlework Division

  • 2 (two) 3-Day Tickets for Comic Con Africa 2019;
  • R3 500.00 (three thousand five hundred Rand) Cash; and
  • A Medal

As an aside, these prizes also reveal that the organisers of the event hope to host another Comic Con next year.

If this sounds like your kind of competition you can head to the registration page but we also highly recommend becoming acquainted with the terms and conditions of the competition here.

We’re looking forward to seeing some awesome cosplay at Africa’s first Comic Con.
