Winston is the last Overwatch hero to be 3D printed

Makers have been 3D printing Overwatch heroes since before the game even launched, and one final character in the roster has finally received the treatment.

As prints came in from the community we started to compile an extensive list and saw every single hero recreated in some form, save for Winston.

Now that has been fixed thanks to user stunner2211 who has made this great scale model of the tank hero.

We’ve been told that Winston took 25 hours to go from a sketch to a proper 3D model suitable for printing.

With that done printing took only five hours using a lot of support material on a custom CoreXY printer.

The filament used here was ABS with acetone used to smooth it out. Unfortunately this also ate away some fine details, and there’s quite a difference between the model and the final print you can see in the gallery below.

The finished pieces is around nine centimetres tall and 11 centimetres long, complete with a basic paint job to look like the base skin.

On Twitter you can see four different users have already printed their own Winstons at various scales. If you’d like to be one of them, the free files are available on Thingiverse.

stunner2211 also tells us that they’ve recently acquired a DLP printer. Seeing the quality of this Bastion test print makes us excited about future projects from this maker.
