Sony has recently announced PlayStation Hits, a collection of the most popular games on the platform that will now be discounted.
In South Africa the price for these games will be R349,99 when purchased through the PS Store or in certain local retailers.
These discounts will be available from 18th July for the following games with a promise of more to come in the future.
- Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse
- Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition
- EA Sports UFC 2
- Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow Of New Despair
- Infamous: Second Son
- Killzone Shadow Fall
- LittleBigPlanet 3
- Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
- Mortal Kombat X
- Need For Speed Rivals
- Need For Speed
- Project Cars
- Ratchet & Clank
- Rayman Legends
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Yakuza 0
This new collection reminds us of the Essentials / Platinum range of games which also slashed the prices of popular games.
Those outside of South Africa will also be receiving the PlayStation Hits treatment, but not in exactly the same way. The US version, for example, is only $20 (~R273,48) and offers a different selection of games at launch.
While we are receiving more games (22 versus 15 in the US), we are missing out on some amazing titles such as 2016’s Doom and Metal Gear Solid V. Hopefully we’ll be getting those as more games are added.
Announcements for these new games will be on the European PlayStation Blog (South Africa is included in Europe’s release schedule).
