Galaxy Note 9’s S Pen will reportedly support Bluetooth

We’re a little over one month away from Samsung revealing their latest mobile device – the Galaxy Note 9.

This also means that it’s time for the rumour mill to start churning a bit faster than normal, and the latest report suggests that the Galaxy Note 9’s S Pen stylus will be getting a new feature in the form of Bluetooth functionality.

This is according to Droid Life, which recently spotted an FCC filing for the Galaxy Note 9, but the exact functions of the enhanced stylus were not disclosed.

That has not stopped some users on Twitter from speculating, with the overwhelming theory being that the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen will support functions like controlling music, toggling connectivity, and use as a remote clicker for presentations or to trigger the Note 9’s camera.

With the Note’s S Pen arguably the mobile device’s greatest feature, imbuing it with a bit more functionality makes a lot of sense, especially as Samsung has only improved nib sensitivity and added a push ejection to the stylus in past years.

The Galaxy Unpacked event for the Note 9 is scheduled for 9th August 2018, with those interested in the device able of watching the live stream on Samsung Mobile’s YouTube channel or Samsung.com/ZA.

This is likely not the last we’ve heard about the Note 9 in the lead up to its unveiling, so watch this space.
