All World of Warcraft expansions now included in subscription

World of Warcraft is one of those games I never quite became enamoured with because it was confusing.

Mind you it wasn’t the game that was confusing but rather purchasing it. Did I have to buy every expansion released since Vanilla WoW? Could I just buy the new expansion and experience everything WoW had to offer?

That confusion has been removed as Blizzard has announced that all expansions (excluding the soon to be released Battle for Azeroth) will be bundled in the monthly subscription fee of €10.99 or $12.99.

“Starting today, new players can gain access to all World of Warcraft content up through and including the Legion expansion simply by becoming a subscriber—you no longer need to purchase the original World of Warcraft base game. In addition, all existing World of Warcraft subscribers have automatically been upgraded to Legion at no additional cost,” Blizzard announced yesterday.

Alongside this Blizzard has also launched the World of Warcraft Complete Collection which includes: all previous expansions, the forthcoming Battle for Azerzoth expansion, a 110 Character Boost and 30 days of game time, though this is only for new accounts.

Of course you can play World of Warcraft for free up until you hit level 20 so if you’ve never played the game we highly recommend giving it a test run that way before paying for a subscription.

Battle for Azeroth releases on 14th August.
