Listing for Galaxy Watch leaked… on Samsung’s website

As we build up to Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event on 9th August, yet another leak has surfaced. This time for the Galaxy Watch, with the South Korean manufacturer’s own website mistakenly listing the device, before swiftly pulling it.

That did not stop those with quick fingers from capturing a screenshot of the device, with CNET’s Scott Stein one of the first to write about the new smartwatch.

The device pictured below is said to be a 42 mm wide offering, and as you can tell comes in a Rose Gold (probably not actual gold) finish, and looks quite a bit like the Samsung Gear S3 Classic that debuted a few years ago.

No mention of what the operating system is, or indeed the internal specifications, but last week’s rumour of the smartwatch’s name turn out to be true. As such it likely will be utilising a version of Tizen OS for the interface.

The fact that the Galaxy Watch popped up now could also mean that the new device may appear alongside the Galaxy Note 9 early next month.

If that does happen, it leaves one lingering question – what will Samsung have in store for IFA 2018 in September?

The company has routinely showcased its wearables at the event. Perhaps they’ll have more fitness-focused Gear smartwatches and bands for the Berlin-based event.

With a couple of weeks to go until Samsung officially unveils the Note 9 and Galaxy Watch, this probably isn’t the last leak we’ll see.
