Newest Nintendo Labo kit focuses on vehicles

While the initial offering of Nintendo’s Labo products may not have been to everyone’s tastes, there’s a new kit launching this year that allows you to drive, fly and dive.

Toy-Con 3: Vehicle Kit has three main builds that relate to an equal amount of vehicles: a steering wheel for a car, a control stick for a plane, and a pair of wheels for a boat.

Of course, all three of these vehicles do a lot more than just drive around in the included software. The most interesting to us is the two-player option where one person drives the vehicle and another uses a weapon.

One featured not yet confirmed is integration with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, something the original Variety Kit supported. With a proper steering wheel in place of the bike handlebars, we’re sure this will be included.

If the date on the South African Nintendo site is to be believed, we will be receiving this kit at the same time as the rest of the world – 14th September 2018.

There’s no local price as yet, but we expect it to cost the same as the original Variety Kit, as they share a $69.99 US RRP. In this country the Variety Kit was sold for R999, but it was routinely discounted by a couple of hundred rand.

That being said, the volatility of the rand may throw that price off, so start saving now if you want to pick one up.
