Vampyr, the hard as teeth vampire-themed RPG set in 1918 London is getting two brand new modes.

For those that haven’t played the game yet or read our review (below)¬†you might not be aware that this is rather big news as the game doesn’t have a difficulty setting. Instead the player’s actions determine the difficulty of the game.

Well at least that was how the game worked. Developers DONTNOD Entertainment has revealed that a forthcoming update will introduce a Story mode that “de-emphasizes combat” allowing players to engross themselves in the story of the Dr. Reid.

For players that want the game to beat them to a pulp, the developer has said it will also be adding a hard mode.

“Hard mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power,” says DONTNOD.

It’s not clear when these modes will be added to Vampyr but we’ll definitely be revisiting London again when it lands.
