EA Launches Origin Access Premier on PC for R200 a month

The number of options from EA when it comes to subscription service gaming is growing, with the company announcing a new tier in the form of Origin Access Premier.

It’s a PC-only subscription service that consists of a R199.95 per month or R1 199.99 annual option for those interested in the service.

For those unfamiliar with EA’s Origin Access, it’s a platform where gamers can play titles that are normally available three to six months after their initial release.

The standard service also excludes any DLC for specific titles, and of course only includes games that have been officially developed by EA or one of its partner studios.

What makes Premier a bit more enticing is that some of the developer’s biggest titles, such as FIFA 19, Madden 19, Anthem and Battlefield V will be available to play a few days before their cross-platform global releases.

Other perks to Origin Access Premier include not having to pay for DLC on certain games, as well as a 10 percent discount on digital purchases made via the Origin platform.

Those that sign up for the new tier now will also get access to deluxe versions of games like FIFA 18, Battlefront II, Unravel, Fe and Sims 4.

With Xbox touting Game Pass and Sony with PlayStation Now, it should prove interestign to see how Origin Access Premier fares against some very stiff competition from the console subscription crowd, not to mention dealing with their loot box fiasco.
