Samsung’s latest QLED TVs land in South Africa today

The latest line-up of Samsung QLED TVs are a gorgeous sight to behold and from today you will be able to get your hands on one.

While these have functionality you would expect from a TV in 2018 (UHD resolution, HDR, etc) they also boast a few niceties. One of this is the One Invisible Connection.

In a bid to remove cable clutter from the back of the TV, Samsung uses a single cable that carries both data and power, albeit separately. Samsung tells us the power cable is shielded so you shouldn’t experience any interference.

That one cable connects the TV to the One Connect Box which looks rather garish beside the sleek TV if we’re being honest. This isn’t much of an issue though as the One Connect Box can be hidden away from view.

Another feature in these new QLED TVs is the Ambient Mode. This allows the TV to showcase your favourite pictures or blend in with your wall.

The QLED TVs will be available in 55inch, 65inch, 75inch and 82inch form factors and are available today with prices ranging from R22 000 all the way up to R100 000 for the largest 82inch TV.

Samsung South Africa has also said that it will be including extra value in the form of Samsung Signature services (professional installation and setup of your TV on the same, or the next day), soundbars and R1 000 in Google Play movie rentals. These extras will differ from TV to TV.
