Mercedes-AMG Petronas announces full F1 esports team

With F1 teams currently on summer vacation we’re a bit hungry for some F1 news and Mercedes gave us some today.

The current world champs, Mercedes-AMG Petronas has announced its official F1 esports team which will compete in the 2018 F1 Esports Pro series which kicks off later this year.

One of the team members, Daniel Bereznay from Hungary, was already selected by Mercedes during the first F1 Esports Series Pro Draft back in July. Today Mercedes revealed the full team.

The big name in the team is 2017 champ Brendon Leigh (who raced for RedBull Toro Rosso at the time) who will no doubt be looking to retain his silverware in 2018. Joining him is Harry Jacks and Patryk Krutyi from Poland rounds out the four-man squad.

The quartet will be training at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas headquarters in Brackley in the UK where they will have access to state-of-the-art training facilities.

Our love for Mercedes-AMG Petronas as a team in F1 aside, this little esports team seems to be incredibly strong especially with the inclusion of Leigh.

If you’re a fan of F1 we highly recommend checking out the esports series. We’ve embedded the final race from last year below. Perhaps it will satisfy your cravings for F1 until the Belgian Grand Prix.
