Latest Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer highlights frontier life

With all the focus on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 last night, you may have missed a new gameplay trailer that dropped for Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2).

It comes in at just over six minutes, and serves up a good look at some the environmental elements that Rockstar has been working on for this highly-anticipated title.

Outlaws will still be the focus, as is the case with all Red Dead games, but Rockstar notes that RDR2 will add more detail in terms of frontier life. As such elements like hunting, gun fights and exploration of the American frontier will taken up a level for this game.

The number of environments will increase in RDR2, with mountain ranges, deserts, swamplands and dense forests all featuring.

The towns and cities are also getting larger, with this game set in a time when an outlaw existence was coming to an end, and more industrialisation begins to take over.

For those still unfamiliar with RDR2, players will be taking on the role of Arthur Morgan, who is a part of the van de Linde gang. To that end things like hunting for food, not only for yourself but for the gang, will play a significant role here.

You’ll also be encouraged to spend time with other gang members in order to open up possible missions and deepening the lore of the game.

There’s a few more elements explained in the trailer below, so we highly recommend you watch if you’re keen to play this game.

Following several delays, Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently up for pre-order and now slated for release on 26th October for the PS4 and Xbox One. As always, however, we do not recommend pre-ordering and always suggest holding off on purchases until initial reviews are in.
