Diablo III is coming to the Nintendo Switch

Blizzard is finally bringing a game to the Nintendo Switch though it’s not the game we expected.

Diablo III will be coming to the Switch later this year according to an article on Forbes that has since been removed. The article broke embargo according to Kotaku hence it has been removed.

But because we never recieved this embargo and the information is already available online, here’s what you need to know.

The Diablo III Eternal Collection on Switch will include all prior expansions including Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer. The game will also feature all of the updates that Blizzard has made to the game thus far, obviously.

“The Switch version will also let you play multiplayer in a number of different configurations, from four-player local co-op on the same machine, to four-player co-op on separate Switches without an internet connection, to fully online co-op, to having some players local and others connected over the internet,” reports Kotaku.

Now for the kicker, Diablo III Eternal Collection will cost $59.99 at launch. That stings quite a bit considering the game is now six year old. Of course, Blizzard probably had to do a bit of work to make the game playable on Nintendo’s console, but it continues a worrying trend of years-old ports landing on the Switch at full price.

This is not the only Diablo project Blizzard has been working on, according to a report by Ars Technica. Blizzard has reportedly been working on multiple Diablo projects but it’s likely we’ll have to wait until BlizzCon in October to learn more.
