The Sinking City devs start a progress update video series

Those looking for a new hit of Lovecraftian media should be following the progress of The Sinking City, with the people behind it have made that easier recently.

Developer Frogwares has started a series of update videos on their YouTube channel, starting with this first episode on lighting and weather.

While there isn’t much meat on the bones here in terms of what they show, these two aspects are extremely important in this kind of game and we’re happy to see more of this title in any form.

This comes after a “gameplay trailer” was released in July that showed little to no actual gameplay. While this update video does show a little more, we’re still left wanting.

All we get here is mention of a day/night cycle and some dynamic lighting. Not the most exciting stuff, but interesting nonetheless.

While we wait for more of these updates to come out, make sure you check out Call of Cthulhu for another game inspired by the same author’s works. Alternatively, there’s our list of Lovecraftian games that we drew up to mark 80 years since his death.

The Sinking City is still months from launched with a 21st March 2019 release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so it may look very different from these videos by that time.
