Here’s how much those gorgeous DJI Mavic 2 drones will cost you in SA

Yesterday DJI unveiled the next generation of its Mavic drones.

Given the moniker of Mavic 2, the drone is actually two drones – the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom – each with its own stand out features.

The Mavic 2 Pro features a 20MP Hasselblad L1D-20c camera which boasts a 1inch CMOS sensor. The drone is able to record 4K footage at 30fps but you can record at up to 120fps when filming FullHD video.

The Mavic 2 Pro also boasts a variable aperture ranging from f/2.8 to f/11 and you are able to shoot in 10-bit Dlog-M format for easier colour correction in post production.

The smaller Mavic 2 Zoom sports a 1/2.3inch CMOS sensor which sports fewer pixels but you are able to zoom from 24mm to 48mm.

Like its big brother the Zoom also shoots at 4K at 30fps.

As for flight time, pilots can expect a max flight time of 31 minutes from both drones which can also reach a max speed of 72kph.

New features include Hyperlapse, Active Track 2.0 which can reportedly keep up with cars and dolly zoom.

So how much is this new kit going to set you back?

The drones are available for pre-order from both ORMS and Outdoor Photo.

At ORMS, the Zoom will set you back R25 999 while the Pro will cost you R29 999.

Pricing at Outdoor Photo is similar with the Zoom coming in at R25 995 and the Pro at R29 995. The retailer lists an availability of September.

Over at Droneworld the pricing is the same as at Outdoor Photo but you can also pick up the Flymore combos.
