The new Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 is a business-focused Chromebook

The press conferences for IFA 2018 begin in earnest today, with consumer electronics, mobile devices and computing hardware taking up much of the focus.

Catering to the latter is the new Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 notebook, which is designed as a more “grown-up” version of the Chromebooks the company has released in the past.

As such it will be targeted less at those in high school and university, but rather the entry-level business world.

So what is this notebook sporting?

Well as the name indicates a 14″ screen is pulling duty here with a FullHD 1 920 X 1 080 resolution. Parts of the chassis are constructed from aluminium, and not plastic as some of the cheaper Dell Chromebooks were.

Internally an 8th Gen Intel Core i3 processor will keep things ticking over, with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB internal memory depending on the model you opt for.

Added to this is a recommended $599 (~R8 623) price tag for when it launches later in the year in October Stateside.

If it can stay in the same price range when it lands locally, the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 notebook may be a very tempting prospect for enterprise customers.

Oh, as for the 2-in-1 aspect of the device, it features a removable stylus in the bottom portion of the notebook should you fancy yourself a scribe.

No word on when Dell will be bringing the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 to South Africa at this stage.
