F1 TV app goes live ahead of the Monza Grand Prix this weekend

Good news for Formula One fans that have subscribed to F1 TV, as the mobile app for that service is now available to download.

Launched earlier this year, F1 TV is a streaming service that offers fans an alternative to watching the sport by streaming the races online.

Now, the F1 TV app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and Apple iTunes but the release is currently limited to smartphones and tablets.

You will need an F1 TV Pro or F1 TV Access subscription to make use of the service and the country you live in will determine which subscription is available to you.

You can find out more about the F1 TV subscription tiers over here.

Formula One Digital Media Limited says that an app for smart TVs will be arriving soon.

Personally I’m rather thankful for the timing of this release as I will be traveling this Sunday when the Grand Prix takes place at Monza and being able to keep up with the race on the sly
