Fans of LEGO and space travel rejoice, as a LEGO set of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rockets towards being turned into a real product.

This comes thanks to LEGO’s Ideas programme which turns fan creations (with sufficient support on their voting platform) into sets that can be bought in stores.

The Falcon Heavy project gained the required 10K votes to be reviewed by LEGO. After achieving this level of support LEGO will step in and start the long process of determining if the project can be turned into a set.

Aside from being made with the level of detail and strength that is required, obtaining the licence(s) for the subject matter can be a problem.

If the set cannot meet all these requirements, it will never be turned into a set.

Luckily for the SpaceX build, it has made it through another round of reviews and will continue on until it is ejected from the programme, or it winds up in stores.

Space was a common theme in this round of reviews, which included nine other builds with three of them touching on the subject.

We’ll include a full list of them below, but you can always read the official post from LEGO themselves.

A detailed model of the International Space Station and a collection of smaller SpaceX builds have also been considered in this round.

If we had to choose a favourite it would be the Fiat 500 F that fits in perfectly with LEGO’s range of brick-built vehicles at this scale, the most recent being a 007 Aston Martin.

On the opposite end of the scale is the coffee shop from Friends. It’s not that we have anything against Friends, it’s just that the build is on the boring side and we’ve already had a set from a sitcom as a LEGO Ideas set in 21302: The Big Bang Theory.

Back to the Falcon heavy however, there’s still a way to get a DIY model should this set not become a reality. It’s not LEGO, but a 3D print exists for the rocket that you may want to look into.
