PUBG and Microsoft partner on greaseproof Xbox controller

There’s a special place in hell reserved for people who invite you over to play games and then hand you a grime covered controller.

That’s why the latest collaboration from PUBG and Microsoft is so bittersweet.

The pair have debuted a new greaseproof Xbox controller to ensure one’s gaming sessions are not hampered by oily digits.

Unfortunately this new Xbox controller is only for those playing Down Under, with Xbox Australia recently announcing its extremely limited availability.

For now only 10 (yes 10) controllers have been made available in Australia, but hopefully if it proves popular, other regions will soon be receiving it.

What makes the Greaseproof 1.0 controller special is that it is covered in a urethane coating, according to Mashable, with the process done by hand, hence the limited numbers.

Along with being greaseproof this one-of-a-kind Xbox controller is also scratch and water-resistant. It’s unclear if it can withstand cold drink spills, but given its waterproofness we’d assume that you can simply wipe it down and continue gaming without any ill effects.

Now it’s time to petition Microsoft to bring it to South Africa, as KFC and gaming very rarely mix well.

In the interim, give the greaseproof Xbox controller a watch in the video below.
