See the locales of Red Dead Redemption 2

We’re just over a month away from the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, and to keep us satiated Rockstar has released a brief look at the locations you’ll be travelling to in the game.

On a dedicated page titled “The Frontier, Cities & Towns“, we get a look at seven distinct environments ranging from a mining town to a snow-covered mountain.

To show these off we have a collection of what looks like vintage postcards, some of which you can view in the tweet embedded below. We’re not sure if these are screenshots from the game with filters layered over, or concept art.

Scrolling around the page does reveal some shots from the game but nothing too interesting compared to what we’ve seen from trailers released before now.

Those looking to really pick apart this new content should read the descriptors for each location as they look to provide information about mission and story beats from the game, so stop reading now if you want to go in completely blind.

Two interesting points we pick up here are in the towns of Rhodes and Strawberry. Rhodes seems to be playing reluctant host to two warring families that we’re sure will have some relation to the real life Hatfield–McCoy feud. In Strawberry a new mayor wants to transform the town into a tourist trap which ties into the themes of advancement and the death of the Wild West which was also a theme in the first Red Dead Redemption.

That, however, is just speculation and we’ll need to wait until the game launches on 26th October to see what really happens.
