Here’s 20 minutes of Just Cause 4 gameplay

Outside of a demo the second best way to decide if a new game is for you is a long, uninterrupted gameplay video which we now have for Just Cause 4.

Uploaded today to the official Just Cause YouTube channel, this video seems to be what was shown at this year’s Gamescom back in August.

Game director Francesco Antolini walks us through what is being played, starting with a flyover of the large playable map.

It is mentioned that there will be procedural generation here together with a more imposing landmass to explore.

Next up is the grappling hook which has multiple types of attachments aside from tethering and retracting multiple objects. There are now small booster rockets to send things flying randomly, and “air lifters” which are very powerful balloons that quickly carry parts of the world into the air before popping and dropping their payloads.

Each of these also have loadouts so you can change exactly how they work to suit your needs. Mess around enough and you can get a flying tank, which is what we all want in life really.

If that’s not good enough there’s a gun that shoots high velocity wind (perfect for flying around with the parachute) and extreme weather that affects the game world.

We really like these gameplay videos that developers are putting out. It’s a good show of faith from them and we appreciate seeing it, but we’re still mixed when it comes to this title in particular.

We’ll have to see if Just Cause 4 can win us back closer to its launch on 4th December 2018.
