Red Dead Online beta going live in November

We’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of Red Dead Redemption 2 next month (26th October), but along with an impending journey into the frontier US, there is also the prospect of the Red Dead Online beta to look forward to.

For those gamers keen on exploring the multiplayer world that developer Rockstar Games has crafted, they have announced that the Red Dead Online beta will go live in November.

Sadly there is no precise date given, but it may be a good thing that the online beta will go live after the release of RDR2 and not simultaneously with it at launch. This would afford us a bit of time to get familiar with the environment and make our way through the campaign.

In terms of access, the beta will be freely available to everyone who has a PS4 or Xbox One copy of RDR2, with Rockstar looking to do some fine tuning for the online mode before it launches in its final version.

When that will be though, is unclear.

While the beta will offer free access, it’s important to note that there could be some added extras in the complete version of the online mode that some gamers can do and others cannot.

Rockstar noted that those extras would include a character rank boost to level 25, additional weapons and costumes, a specific camp theme and chestnut black horse to ride.

With GTA Online proving a hit, we’re suspecting that Red Dead Online will be equally rewarding.
