After a streak of disappointing films and one of the worst movies we’ve ever had to sit through, our excitement for the new Bumblebee movie was at an all time low.

This really wasn’t helped by the first trailer which was a middling affair to be very kind.

Imagine our surprise, then, as a new trailer launched yesterday and actually filled us with hope for the newest feature film about our favourite Transformer.

The biggest draw here is the war on Cybertron and the Transformers there sporting their classic looks. Soundwave even makes an appearance midway through the trailer in all his purple glory and you can bet that this gif is going to get a lot of us in the coming months before Bumblebee releases in November.

Aside from that the story looks to be more reigned in compared to the previous entries. Instead of dozens of lookalike heaps of metal crashing into each other, Bumblebee is taking on a select few Decepticons and some human military thugs.

As excited as we are for these parts of the movie, we’ve been fooled before (we’re looking at you, Suicide Squad) and we still have little faith in this movie given the series’ history.

We can only hope that director Travis Knight has learned from Michael Bay’s mistakes and make a quality product despite all the weird soft reboot shenanigans taking place here.
