Meet Gigago, the new fibre ISP that wants to make life easier

If you are on the Metrofibre or Openserve fibre networks you have a new choice of fibre internet service provider in Gigago.

Gigago is an ISP brand of MetroFibre Networks and appears to be touting customer care as its unique selling point.

“GigaGo provides 100% uncapped and unshaped premium internet to the home,” the ISP touts on its website.

While that may be the case, the ISP will still throttle users once their downloads reach a certain limit. That limit starts at 350GB for the 4Mbps package and goes up to 1.5TB for the 100Mbps package. So yeah, there is no shaping or cap but you can check the terms and conditions for how you will be throttled.

The primary focus of Gigago, as previously mentioned, will be customer service. After hours support will be provided from 07:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 07:00 to 17:00 on weekends.

Pricing is decent, with a 4Mbps package costing R550 per month though you can check out all the packages available through Gigago below.

Uncapped and Unshaped? Throttle threshold Cost per month
Go4 Yes 350GB R550
Go10 Yes 500GB R699
Go20 Yes 750GB R899
Go40 Yes 1TB R1 099
Go100 Yes 2.5TB R1 299

All of the above packages include a free WiFi router and if you sign up for a 12 month contract installation and activation will be free as well.

“At GigaGo we provide access to fast, reliable and affordable Internet connectivity and believe that through the simplification of the process of acquiring Internet services, we can ensure that more people can experience the benefits of a connected lifestyle,” head of Gigago, Cornelius Jansen van Rensburg said in a statement.

You can check if Gigago is available in your area by visiting the website and using its coverage checking tools.
