Save me Mr Tako hits Steam and Switch on 30th October

If you like your games styled after classic Game Boy adventures, and you need more playable fish characters after Splatoon, Save me Mr Tako is the game for you when it launches at the end of this month.

The game got a release date yesterday complete with a short trailer we’ve embedded below.

The game, which sometimes features the subtitle “Tasukete Tako-San”, has players controlling the titular Mr Tako in a setting where humans and octopi are at war.

There’s six worlds promised here together with 16 different dungeons and side quests. In terms of the aesthetics players can switch off the classic off-green Game Boy palette and choose something they may like more. Mr Tako can also don 50 different hats, giving Super Mario Odyssey a real run for its money.

Save me Mr Tako is developed by Christophe Galati and Nicalis, Inc., with the latter also handling publishing. You may know the Nicalis name for their efforts with the Binding of Isaac series and a lot more.

If you’d like to read more about this game make sure you check out the blog post penned by Galati that explains some of the game’s other features, such as an easy mode and the ability to fast forward through cutscenes.
