Cell C extends free data for black streaming

Here’s some good news for Cell C customers using the black service: the telco has extended its free data offering.

Back in May Cell C announced that its customers would be able to stream movies, series, sport and more through the black platform without incurring data costs.

That offering was due to end next month but Cell C has now decided to extend the offer.

At time of writing the offer now goes through to February 2019.

“When the free data plan was initially rolled out in May, it was due to end 10 November. We have however seen the need to extend it over the holiday period, especially when families and children have lots of dwell time, they can watch their favourite programmes anytime, anywhere and on the go,” chief executive at black, Surie Ramasary, said in a press release.

This should come in handy over the festive season but right now you can rent a number of horror films – including Jordan Peele’s fantastic Get Out – with no fixed contract.

The streaming service is available on desktop through the official black website or you can download apps for iOS and Android for when you’re on the go.
