Enter the Gungeon PS4 physical edition on sale 13th November

In August we learned that the superb game Enter the Gungeon would be getting a special physical edition from the people at Special Reserve Games. Now we know that the first batch of these for the PlayStation 4 will be available come 13th November.

This was announced over the weekend on Twitter. As a quick reminder what you’re getting here is the previously digital-only game on a disc together with, in our opinion, something much better: a printed version of the ammonomicon.

As you may have guessed by the name, the ammonomicon is a spoof of the necronomicon. In the game it acts as a bestiary, a log of all the guns and items unlocked, and more.

Special Reserve Games have been showing off more pictures of this and I’m salivating over here. Even though I’m not usually a fan of the old art book or similar, this looks a cut above that standard fare.

The ammonomicon is 6 X 9 inches (15.24 X 22.86 centimetres) with 224 pages. It will also feature exclusive art made by developers Dodge Roll.

Unfortunately there’s no pricing as of yet with that, together with other details, coming later.

If you’d prefer to get a physical version for the Nintendo Switch, that is apparently coming after this PS4 version but there’s no date for that yet either.

Due to the limited nature of these releases, I’m probably going to jump on the PS4 version as soon as possible, despite the fact that I already own the title on Switch and Steam. Enter the Gungeon is really that good.

If you’d like to join me in doing so, head on over to the official website and hang out until the “buy” option becomes available.
