Friday dread with a new Call of Cthulhu trailer

As we get closer to the release of Call of Cthulhu on 30th October, there’s a new trailer to tide us over.

The Lovecraftian adventure game sees player character and private investigator Pierce looking into a family murder on the island of Darkwater.

As you may expect, there’s cults, cosmic horror and general terror galore.

This specific trailer has a bit of a clever name – Preview to Madness, as it focuses on industry quotes from those who, presumably, got to play a preview of the game.

While it is well done, there’s very little gameplay here. For that you can watch the Gamescom 2018 showcase or the alternate gameplay trailer.

We like what we see here but we’ve been burned by fancy trailers before.

Call of Cthulhu will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it launches. Those looking to pre-order can do so on this page where they’ll get a 10 percent discount across all platforms.

That being said, we never recommend pre-ordering digital games. With the launch so soon it would be wise to wait for the release and a few reviews to roll in before spending any money.

Those looking to play a Lovecraft game right now should check out our list of favourites that we compiled to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the author’s death.
